| Details: | SIRPA, founded by physiotherapist, Georgie Oldfield MCSP, is an organisation which is dedicated to raising awareness of the concept that back pain is often triggered and perpetuated by the brain and central nervous system, rather than due a physical abnormality. SIRPA's findings are that once this is recognised and accepted by the individual and the underlying causes dealt with, through education and the use of self-empowering strategies, full recovery is possible, no matter how long-term or severe the condition. SIRPA provides educational written and audio products, with many of the people following the advice found in these products recovering from their pain without requiring any additional support. Where further support and guidance is required, SIRPA provides their online Recovery programme, as well as offering 1-2-1 mentoring from SIRPA Practitioners who have attended the 4 day Practitioner training course. |
